Hinch & Liu is a British luxury jewellery house specialising in lab-grown diamonds and precious metals. Founded on the belief that diamonds shouldn't cost the earth, we create timeless fine jewellery that combines exceptional quality, ethical sourcing and accessible luxury, without compromise.
Our lab-grown diamonds are chemically, physically and optically identical to mined diamonds, offering the same extraordinary brilliance while providing a more sustainable and responsible choice. Every diamond is independently certified by IGI or GIA and undergoes a rigorous three-stage quality assessment by our trusted suppliers, independent laboratories, and our in-house Diamond Graduate (DGA). Danny personally evaluates every diamond for cut precision, brilliance, colour and overall beauty, ensuring only exceptional stones become part of a Hinch & Liu creation.

the founders
Alex Hinchliffe and Danny Liu share a lifelong passion for gemstones and fine jewellery. From an early age, Alex created his first lab-grown ruby whilst still in school. Danny, equally captivated, took his interest further by earning the prestigious Diamond Diploma (DGA) from the Gemmological Association of Great Britain (Gem-A).
What sets Hinch & Liu apart is their hands-on approach: Alex and Danny have spent years travelling the world, sourcing gemstones directly from their countries of origin and designing bespoke jewellery pieces for themselves and others to wear and enjoy. This deep involvement at every stage — from selection of materials at the source to final design — ensures that each piece carries a personal touch and a story worth telling.
Together, their complementary skills and shared vision have given rise to Hinch & Liu, one of the UK’s most exciting new luxury diamond jewellery brands — built on authenticity, craftsmanship, and a direct connection to the world's finest diamonds.
